Darren Horne - Committee Member and Press Officer

Darren, who’s company is local marketing and PR firm “SWM Marketing” has a background in media and marketing stretching back some twenty years working with PR/marketing agencies and media organisations. Darren assists with the Chambers marketing and communications to its members and manages the membership administration.

Darren has a particular interest in the Visitor Economy growth for the town and economic development in general. He has a good understanding and personal interest in specifically the tourism and destination management concept.

Darren is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and plays for local rugby league team Somerset Vikings where he is a qualified level 2 coach for the children’s teams; he also offers his commercial and media background skills on their committee.

Darren is also one of the key people developing the Sedgemoor Business Awards due for launch in spring 2012.
